Blog of Book News
10/1/2024

It’s hard to believe it’s been four years since my last post on Blog of Books. What began nearly a decade ago as a whimsical endeavor has transformed into a cherished part of my life, one that has weathered several name changes and countless revisions. Through all the ups and downs, my unwavering passion for literature has remained the heartbeat of this blog. My initial goal was simple: to create a welcoming space where fellow book lovers could discover their next five-star read. I wanted to foster a community where the joy of reading is continuous and collaborative, allowing us to share our thoughts, favorite books, and everything in between.

When I first dove into the world of books, I often found myself overwhelmed by where to start. Sure, I could browse the top 100 on Amazon or the New York Times Best Seller List, but those lists rarely spotlight the smaller, yet extraordinary authors with an amazing catalog of books and series waiting to be read. It becomes even trickier when you feel like you’ve devoured every romance novel in sight. Seriously, there are only so many MC books out there lol.  Next thing you know, you’re scrolling through your Goodreads friends’ shelves, hoping to unearth your next 5 star read. While that hunt can be exhilarating, it’s often taxing and unrealistic for most readers. The main goal of this platform has always been to champion authors and shine a light on those who deserve everything and more.

The next update is one that has been in the works for so long that I can’t even pinpoint when it truly manifested. Growing up, my dream was always to become an author, yet the stories I envisioned never seemed to take shape. I firmly believe in allowing narratives to unfold organically rather than forcing them into existence, and I’m thrilled to share that the idea for my first series—still untitled—has finally emerged. It all started while I was listening to "Love and War," which inspired me to curate a Spotify playlist that encapsulated the overall tone I wanted for this story.

At the heart of this narrative is a female character who is complex and truly morally gray, an archetype often overlooked in literature. I wanted to challenge the status quo and explore how a woman can wield power and navigate betrayal without facing judgment for her actions. My vision is to craft a protagonist who starts as timid and beloved, only to evolve into the most powerful Fae in her world. How does she manage her newfound power? When she makes choices that are destructive or morally ambiguous, how will the readers react? This journey will not only showcase her flaws but also highlight her strength. I wanted a woman that embraces complexity and moral ambiguity—something that men have often done without scrutiny. I'm excited to explore this character’s journey and share her story with you all. As of today, the story is halfway done and I couldn't be more excited.

Thank you all for sticking with me and supporting me throughout the years. This blog truly means the world to me and I couldn't be happier to be back.
